Absolutely Disgraceful Experience
We were looking into a new lease and were offered a demo car. No problem with that — we were told we were getting a heavy discount because it had 10,500 km on it, and that the monthly payment would be $415. We were repeatedly reassured that the mileage already on the car should not be considered, as everything would have been taken care of.
We structured a 4-year lease with a total of 96,000 km, which we discussed with our sales rep to ensure we stayed under the 100,000 km warranty limit. Throughout the process, we were put at peace thinking that the existing kilometers on the car would be covered. Any concerns we brought up about the mileage or warranty were brushed off, and we were told not to worry about it — that it was all taken care of.
However, right before signing, we asked to get the warranty confirmation in writing — and that’s when they suddenly admitted that the 10,500 km would not be covered unless we paid extra for an extended warranty.
So after being told multiple times that the mileage was no issue and was “fully taken care of,” it turned out that wasn't true at all.
We left and went back to the dealership where we got our previous car. They offered us the same exact model, brand new with only 16 km on it, for $400/month — cheaper than the demo we were being sold.
So not only were we misled about the warranty, but we were being charged more for a used car than we paid elsewhere for a new one.
If you're being offered a demo car from this dealership, be extremely careful. Get everything in writing. What they say and what they actually offer can be two very different things. You can absolutely find a better deal — and a more honest experience — elsewhere.
To summarize:
We were quoted $415/month for a used demo with 10,500 km, compared to $400/month for a brand new car with 16 km elsewhere. Despite warranty and mileage being our main concern and the sole reason we lease, we were constantly told not to worry — that everything would be taken care of. That was not true.
Our experience at Stouffville Hyundai started off well. Jordan, our salesperson, was great — friendly, professional, and made the initial process smooth and pleasant. Up until the point we met with the finance team, we felt confident in our decision.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there.
During our time with the finance department, we were heavily pressured to purchase extended warranties and additional coverage that we had clearly stated we didn’t need. The pressure felt more like a sales tactic than a genuine recommendation. On top of that, we encountered conflicting and unclear information — the kind that seems more likely to confuse than to help an average buyer make an informed decision.
To make matters worse, on the day of delivery, the leasing amount differed from what was originally agreed upon. While the price difference wasn’t major, the lack of communication and transparency was incredibly disappointing. There was no clear explanation until we asked, no prior notice — just quiet changes that undermined our trust.
This experience has left a bitter taste in our mouths and much to be desired in terms of professionalism and accountability. If you're looking for a dealership that values honesty, clear communication, and transparency, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
As for us, once this lease is done, we are thinking twice now whether to return.
We purchased an IONIQ 9 from Stouffville Hyundai in June 2025 and worked with Joon Lee. Joon replied quickly to my initial request and was very helpful in getting the information we needed to make a decision. Although Stouffville Hyundai didn't have the colour that I wanted in inventory, Joon was able to find it at a different dealership and get it for us. Tatyana, the financing manager was also helpful in providing us with different options for financing and was transparent with the price. We were presented with different options for extended warranties but we didn’t feel any pressure to buy them. Overall the buying process went very smoothly and took about two weeks from beginning to end. So far, we’re very happy with the new car. I would highly recommend Stouffville Hyundai and Joon Lee!

Had our Santa Fe in for recall work a couple weeks ago - underbody corrosion preventative service. Everything went fine. Service manager and staff on the phone were polite and helpful.
When we received a call to get our vehicle we were told the rear differential was leaking and both front lower control arms needed replacing - $1782 plus tax and alignment at $155 plus tax.
We were concerned as these are major issues so, we went to our regular mechanic to have it checked. My husband waited and was then called to look at the vehicle with our regular service tech. Absolutely nothing was wrong! The rear differential was not leaking, front control arms and ball joints all fine!
We could have been out a lot of money for work that was unnecessary!
Be sure to have your recommended work double checked as you too could be out thousands of dollars!
Polite courteous staff. However, understanding that I made an appointment for my oil change and tire swap out service 2 weeks in advice, not sure why it took over 2 hours while I waited!

I started visiting Stouffville Hyundai when I was in the market for an EV. The staff are always friendly and the sales team were never pushy, unlike my past car buying experiences. Richard was my main point of contact for the sale and has always been great about communicating before and after the sale. He even called me to let me know an order had been cancelled and I ended up getting my new car 6 months earlier than expected. I have been bringing our Hyundai's to this dealership for 4 years now and while I'm not enamoured by the fact that cost of service is very high, however it is relative as I know all dealerships are expensive to get service done at and some quite a bit more than others. With that being said, I've not had any bad experiences with the service reps and they've all been fairly good at communicating the issues to me and even sometimes trying to help me bring the costs down for a number of maintenance items that needed to be done to our cars. They are also very accommodating by giving me shuttle rides where I need it. I will continue to go to this dealership as its convenient for me in terms of distance and the service reps have all been fair and treated me like a valued customer.
I had an amazing experience at Stouffville Hyundai Service. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help me get a good deal on my brake replacement. They even made several calls to find the best option for me, which I really appreciated. The service technician who assessed my brakes was honest and transparent, never pushing unnecessary services.

Our car is 2019 2.4L Santa Fe and has 114000km Nelson and the staff at Stouffville Hyundai are the best hands down. We have been bringing our car here for years. My wife and I share a vehicle so we take care of it. Let’s face it cars are cars things are going to break or need replacing and when you have a team like Stouffville Hyundai behind you it’s a great feeling to know you and your car are in good hands. They have always treated us like family and because of that we only bring our car here. The team keeps it running and I do my part of keeping it clean.
